Greetings HFRC members and friends!
This Saturday, January 20th we are proud to host a special stretching/foam rolling/injury prevention session with esteemed trainer and certified coach Angela Tieri. Angela is an old friend of the club (one might call her an alum) and has become a successful local elite runner, part of the Impala women’s team and a competitive finisher in races ranging from 10k to 50 miles. She is also the owner of a coaching/training business, Tieri Training. Check her out at http://www.tieritraining.com/
We plan to meet at 8:00 am for our usual Saturday run, then start our session with Angela at 9:30 in the 5th floor west conference space inside Sports Basement on Bryant Street.
Angela will take us through injury prevention including stretching, the use of foam rollers, and resistance bands to help us build strength, flexibility and awareness to head off injury. I expect to learn a lot from this session, and believe you will all gain from Angela’s experience and expertise. The cost of the session is free, the HFRC is covering it as part of your membership!
Please bring an exercise/yoga mat and a foam roller if you have one, as well as resistance bands if you have those, too. We can check our materials in at the front desk inside Sports Basement before our run.
This is an excellent opportunity to kick off your running for 2018, to reconnect with your fellow club members, and learn cool stuff to help your running.
Please let me (jay) or Penny (penny) know if you have any questions. I can also be reached at my cell number below.
See you all Saturday, January 20!
PS – don’t forget to renew your membership for 2018! Only $50 for the year – such a deal! You can renew on our website or bring your dues to the run Saturday.
