Join us for our weekly long run 8:00 am Saturday, November 21 at West Portal.

We’re running the third leg of our Criss Crosstown Trail tomorrow. It should be a beautiful day, might be the last before winter truly sets in.

Patrick set a course for us from Fort Funston to Forest Hill. To make things a bit easier on those of us who need to get to the start, and to have a place for our important post-run coffee, we’re going to pick up the trail in a different spot, at West Portal, in front of the library, near the corner of West Portal and Lennox. It’s next to the tunnel where the trains come out of the mountain, hence the name "West Portal".

For those coming from the east side of town, up and over Market Street to Portola is your best bet. For those who don’t have easy access to a car, there are a couple of options to getting there. Normally, one could take the train, but those are not running. Muni has service that will bring you there. Another option is Lyft and Uber, and a third would be to catch a ride from another member, if you are both comfortable with such an arrangement. If you need a ride and would like help coordinating, please let me or Penny know.

After the run, there is a Noe Valley Bakery for those with a sweet tooth, as well as Peet’s and Starbucks. We can hang out in the small plaza in front of the library.

Look forward to seeing everyone out with us. Should be a spectacular day, and a special route, thanks to Patrick – Portola, Stern Grove, Lake Merced, and Fort Funston!
