In solidarity

We hope you are well and safe. We are heartbroken by the recent tragic deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and countless others. We share our sorrow for their families and their communities. We stand in solidarity with the call to justice and believe that we as a nation can be better than this.

HFRC is a community-based running club that welcomes all and believes we are offering health, friendship and human connection, in a way that takes advantage of our individual interests in bettering our own lives through running, racing and companionship.

Our weekly Saturday runs remain the highlight of my week. We explore nooks and crannies of our fabulous city, exposing the members to parts of SF they might not otherwise see, building friendship along with our endurance, and reaffirming our connection to our communities. We may not be large, but we are visible!

The City of San Francisco has indicated that we may be able to resume our group runs starting June 15, so we are targeting June 20 as our first official group run since early March. We will observe social distancing protocol, and select starting points that will aid us in meeting these protocols, including ample parking and access to less-traveled running routes.

Stay tuned for updates over the next week. We are watching to see whether the current situation will change the City’s timeline for opening.

We encourage you to come join us when we start up again. Invite friends and family, too! We miss you all and we look forward to seeing you soon.
