Greeting fellow runners!
I hope you are all well and safe and healthy.
We are planning to host our first HFRC run Saturday, June 27, in accordance with the rules laid out by the Mayor and the City health department.
Please come join us! We are all looking forward to seeing one another and talking to someone in person who isn’t in our households!
We are going to start from less traveled locations for the first while, to find more open routes and limit interactions with other large groups of runners, walkers, bicyclists (and the righteous).
For June 27, we plan to meet at Esprit Park, corner of 19th and Indiana. The nearby coffee shop appears to have closed, but lots of parking and elbow room. Theres’s a new biscuit pop-up that has opened a few blocks away if we really need to get some post-run food.
We will start at 8:00. For those who haven’t run for a while, have no fear, we are prepared to bring everyone along. In fact, for those wanting to run longer, like 10 miles or more, some of us can start at 7:00 to loop back and meet the group at 8:00.
We will be observing the social distancing protocols, so please bring a face covering and be prepared to run with it when encountering others. No one needs correction, especially from self-righteous strangers, just take care of ourselves and we should all be fine!
I will see if I can coordinate with David and Penny to bring all our backlog of swag over the next couple of weeks, so be prepared to come refresh your stockpile of HFRC running gear. We are getting new gear this year, but we still have a catalog of some items.
See you all on June 27th at 8:00 am.
