Join us for our weekly long run 8:00 am Saturday, June 2 at the Conservatory of Flowers in GG Park.
For those running the SF Marathon and Half Marathons, we have a week where we are practicing race pace. For the full, the distance is 12 miles, with a 2 mile warmup, 8 miles at goal race pace and a 2 mile cool down. For the halfs, it’s 9 miles, with 5 miles at goal race pace.
All courses are of course available for everyone, including a 6.5 miler (and shorter if you need it).
Don’t forget, we’re having the HFRC Social on June 9 from 4-7 at Stem Kitchen and Garden – in the Garden Piazza. Please let Anna know if you can make it, and bring friends, family, significant others!
Stem is located at 499 Illinois Street, San Francisco, down in China Basin near the ballpark and UCSF Medical Center. Look for another invitation shortly!
Another note – the SF Pride 5k and 10k race is Saturday, June 2. It’s a low key 5k and 10k in GG Park, on a Saturday, cheap (only $30!), lots of fun, and we have the chance for a picnic after in the Polo Field. I’m suggesting we can use it for our group run that Saturday. I have signed up for the 10k, my wife and son will be walking the 5k.
Finally, if you have running shoes you’d like to get rid of, bring them to the next Saturday run. We have joined up with Sneakers4Fun, a group to whom we donate our shoes and they distribute them to entrepreneurs in developing nations to help them establish profitable businesses. No cost to you or the club, and in fact the organization will make a donation to our club of 70 cents per pound.
